The Museum of Science and Industry (M.S.I.) will host a special screening of Ready Player One (2018) at ArcLight Cinemas at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 5, 2018. After the screening, there will be a discussion of the virtual and “real” worlds of the New York Times bestselling science fiction novel that inspired Steven Spielberg’s film, as well as the film. The speakers will be Michi Trota, a writer for Uncanny: A Magazine of Science Fiction and Fantasy; Mary Ann Mohanraj, Executive Director of the Speculative Literature Foundation; Brice Puls, Digital Interactive developer; and Ashlyn Sparrow, Learning Technology Director at GCC Design Lab. Issues they plan to cover include gaming, social activism, and social media personas.
