The third weekend of May, 2019 will be the annual Bear Awareness Weekend at the Brookfield Zoo. Guests of all ages will be able to attend special Zoo Chats about the three species of bears at Brookfield Zoo: grizzly bears, polar bears, and sloth bears to find out what challenges they face in the wild, as well as what conservation efforts people are making to help wild bear populations. Volunteers will be manning exploration carts that feature a variety of bear artifacts for guests to touch. At the Hamill Family Play Zoo, youngsters will be able to partake in bear-themed arts and crafts. Note that a fee applies. For further information, visit www.CZS.org/Events or call (708) 688-8000.
