“When is 2019 Museum Day?” by S.M. O’Connor

Smithsonian Magazine’s next Museum Day® is Saturday, September 21, 2019.  Sponsored by Taiwan, a Museum Day® ticket gives two people free admission to a participating museum.  [One must pay for the admission of any additional people.]  There is a limit of one Museum Day® ticket per e-mail address.  Click here to find participating museums and get tickets.  When one finds a museum from the list one wishes to visit, one should click on “Get a Ticket.”  One will then input one’s name, e-mail address, and confirm the museum before downloading the ticket.  A copy of the ticket will be e-mailed to one from info@noreply.smithsonianmag.com.  Some museums require a printed ticket, while others allow one to show a digital ticket on a smartphone or tablet computer.  If one has chosen to get a Museum Day® ticket to a museum that requires a printed ticket and one does not own a printer, one should print it out at a library.  A Museum Day® ticket covers general admission, but does not cover parking, IMAX® films, or special exhibits.  Use @MuseumDay and #MuseumDay in social media.
